What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose of Actemra? If you miss a dose of Actemra, contact your healthcare provider to set up an appointment for your dose as soon as possible.
Actemra should be stored under refrigeration (not frozen). For the IV solution (in vials), after it is diluted with sodium chloride, it may be kept either at room temperature or under refrigeration for up to 24 hours. Because Actemra vials contain no preservatives, any medication left over must be discarded (instead of being saved for the next dose or the next patient).
For the prefilled syringes (for subcutaneous injection), make sure to remove the syringe from the refrigerator and allow it to warm up to room temperature for about 30 minutes before each dose. Injecting cold Actemra can be painful.
Strengths AvailableThe IV form of this medication comes in one concentration (20 mg per mL) and is available in 4 mL, 10 mL, and 20 mL vials.
The subcutaneous injection form of this medication comes in prefilled syringes that contain 162 mg per 0.9 mL.
