Adalimumab

How Should Adalimumab Be Stored?

Adalimumab is kept in the refrigerator. It should never be frozen and should not be used if it has been frozen. If you are traveling, you will need to find a way to keep the medication cold (such as using a cooler with ice packs).

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?

If you do not take your adalimumab as scheduled, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose.

Available Strengths

Adalimumab comes in two different forms:

  • Adalimumab Pen (a prefilled injection device used to automatically inject adalimumab) -- Contains 40 mg adalimumab
  • Adalimumab Prefilled Syringe (must be injected manually) -- Contains 20 or 40 mg adalimumab, depending on the strength.

Both the pens and prefilled syringes come with everything you will need to inject adalimumab, including alcohol pads, needles, and detailed instructions.

Generic Adalimumab

At this time, no generic versions of adalimumab are licensed for sale (see Generic Adalimumab for more information).
