Arthritus

Arthritis? Arthritus is a common misspelling of arthritis.

Arthritis -- inflammation of the joints -- is one of the most common diseases in the United States. Symptoms can include joint swelling and stiffness, and tenderness or pain when touching a joint. In most cases, the cause of the disease is unknown. Scientists do know certain risk factors that may make a person more likely to develop the disease -- but not the actual cause or causes of it.

Treatment for arthritis depends on the specific type, and can include exercise and medication. The exercises that are best for this condition include range-of-motion exercises (such as dancing), strengthening exercises (such as weight training), and aerobic or endurance exercises (such as bicycle riding).
