Healthcare providers often prescribe Daypro® (oxaprozin) to reduce pain, inflammation, swelling, or stiffness caused by rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. This medication works by blocking the effects of hormones called prostaglandins. Although most people tolerate it well, side effects are possible and can include heartburn, stomach pain, and diarrhea.
Prior to beginning treatment with Daypro, inform your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you have (for example, heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure) and any other drugs you are taking, including nonprescription products, supplements, and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). This will help ensure a safe treatment process.
