Diclofenac Medication Information

Diclofenac is a medication that is classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is commonly used for relieving pain but can also be used to treat conditions such as arthritis, migraines, actinic keratosis, or ankylosing spondylitis. At this time, diclofenac products are only approved for use in adults.

Like other NSAIDs, diclofenac works by blocking a specific enzyme known as cyclooxygenase (COX), blocking the production of various inflammatory substances in the body. This action helps to treat pain and inflammation but also seems to help treat seemingly unrelated conditions (such as actinic keratosis).
