Duexis Medication Information

DuexisTM (ibuprofen/famotidine) is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in adults. It comes in tablet form and is taken three times a day.

The ibuprofen component in this combination medicine is a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which works by blocking the production of various inflammatory substances in the body. The famotidine component works by reducing the amount of acid produced by the stomach, which can help prevent stomach ulcers related to ibuprofen use.

To help ensure safe treatment with Duexis, the medication's safety information should be reviewed before you start taking it. This medicine may not be suitable for everyone, so let your healthcare provider know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have certain medical conditions (such as asthma or liver disease), or have any allergies, just to make sure this product is right for you.
