Ponstel Medicine

Ponstel® (mefenamic acid) is a prescription drug approved to treat several conditions related to pain and inflammation. In particular, this nonprescription anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) is used for general pain relief, including painful menstrual periods and pain related to bone, muscle, or tendon injury and inflammation.
 
This medicine comes in capsule form. It is typically taken with food and a full glass of water. For acute pain, Ponstel treatment should last no more than seven days. Treatment for painful menstrual periods should last for no more than two to three days.
