Xarelto Drug Information
Xarelto® (rivaroxaban) is a medication licensed for the prevention of blood clots that can form deep in the veins of the body (deep vein thrombosis, or DVT). Specifically, this prescription medicine is approved to prevent blood clots from forming after a knee or hip replacement surgery.
This medicine is approved for use in adults only, and comes as a tablet that is taken once daily. Possible side effects may include bleeding, including potentially life-threatening internal bleeding.
Before using Xarelto, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on any other drugs you are taking, including vitamins and supplements, as well as any allergies you may have, including to medications, foods, dyes, or preservatives.
