Celebrex 50 Mg Capsules

If you have rheumatoid arthritis, painful menstrual periods, or osteoarthritis, your healthcare provider may recommend Celebrex® (celecoxib), a COX-2 inhibitor. This medication is a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is typically taken once or twice a day to reduce pain and inflammation.

Celebrex capsules come in four strengths:

  • Celebrex 50 mg
  • Celebrex 100 mg
  • Celebrex 200 mg
  • Celebrex 400 mg.

How will your healthcare provider determine the dosage that is best for you? Some of the factors that can affect your prescribed dosage include your symptoms, weight, and other medical conditions you may have.

In some cases, a lower dosage may be required. For example, all doses should be reduced by 50 percent for people with moderate liver problems, and people with severe liver problems should not take Celebrex at all.
