Celebrex Drug Interactions

Aspirin, fluconazole, and lithium are just a few of the drugs that can cause interactions with Celebrex. These interactions can cause several problems, such as increased risk of stomach ulcers, increased levels of medication in the blood, and decreased effectiveness of some medications. If you are experiencing drug interactions, your doctor may adjust the dosage of your medicines and monitor your situation more closely.

An Introduction to Celebrex Interactions

 Celebrex® (celecoxib) can potentially interact with a number of medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Celebrex include:
 
 
  • Angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), such as:

 

 
 
 
  • Corticosteroids, including but not limited to:
     
    • Betamethasone (Celestone®)
    • Cortisone
    • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
    • Fludrocortisone (Florinef®)
    • Hydrocortisone (Cortef®)
    • Methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol®, Medrol®)
    • Prednisolone (Ovapred®, Pediapred®)
    • Prednisone
    • Triamcinolone (Kenalog®, Aristospan®)
 
 
 
 

 

      • Alteplase (Activase®)
      • Reteplase (Retavase®)
      • Streptokinase (Streptase®)
      • Tenecteplase (TNKase®)
 
 
 
Several herbal and nutritional supplements can also interact with Celebrex and may increase the risk of bleeding. Examples of these include, but are not limited to:
