Celebrex® (celecoxib) is a prescription medication that reduces pain and inflammation associated with conditions like tendonitis, arthritis, and painful menstrual periods. Part of a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), Celebrex works by blocking the action of the COX-2 enzyme. Some of the most common side effects are indigestion, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. However, these are usually minor and easily treated.
