Celebrex^® (celecoxib) is a medicine licensed to treat acute pain (such as that following a muscle strain), arthritis symptoms, and painful menstrual periods. It has also been shown to decrease the number of colon and rectal polyps in people with a hereditary condition known as familial adenomatous polyposis. Celebrex is available by prescription only and comes in the form of a capsule that is taken once or twice a day, depending on the condition being treated.
