The medicine can also be used in children over age six to treat juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Occasionally, healthcare providers will prescribe off-label uses of Daypro, such as treating symptoms of fibromyalgia, gout, and chronic fatigue syndrome.

How Does It Work?

Daypro and other NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) work by inhibiting the action of certain hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. These hormones are called prostaglandins. By blocking the effects of prostaglandins, Daypro can help alleviate pain, inflammation, and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis.

Daypro is approved for use in children six years of age and older for the relief of signs and symptoms of juvenile arthritis.
