Enbrel Side Effects to Report

There are a number of less common (but more serious) side effects with Enbrel that you should report immediately to your healthcare provider. These include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Symptoms of an infection, including cough, chills, fever, or weakness
  • Numb or tingling feeling
  • Changes in vision
  • Weakness in your arms and/or legs, along with dizziness
  • Chest pain (see Enbrel and Heart Attacks)
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, including an unexplained rash, hives, itching, wheezing or difficulty breathing, or unexplained swelling
  • Fever, sore throat, chills, and other signs of infection
  • Unusual bruising or bleeding
  • Difficult or painful urination
  • Blood in the urine
  • Unusual bleeding, bruising, or pale skin
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Swelling of the legs or arms
  • Depression (see Enbrel and Depression).
     

Rare Enbrel Side Effects

There are other possible side effects that can occur while taking Enbrel. These side effects occur in less than 1 percent of patients taking the medication. For these side effects, it is difficult to tell whether the side effect is because of Enbrel or something else.
 
Some of these possible Enbrel side effects include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Serious infections, including:
o Osteomyelitis
o Pneumonia
o Pyelonephritis (kidney infection)
