Enbrel® (etanercept) is a prescription medication that has been approved to treat certain inflammatory conditions that affect the joints and skin, such as rheumatoid arthritis and plaque psoriasis. The medication comes in injection form and works by keeping the immune system from attacking the body, which improves symptoms and, in some cases, prevents future damage from occurring.

The dosage your healthcare provider prescribes will vary depending on several factors, such as the medical condition you are being treated for and other medications you are taking. Most people tolerate this medicine well. However, side effects are possible. Some of the more common side effects with this drug include runny nose, infections, headaches, and reactions at the injection site.
