People who have certain inflammatory conditions of the joints and skin, such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, may be prescribed Enbrel^® (etanercept). Enbrel can help relieve the symptoms of these conditions by helping to keep the immune system from attacking the body. Although Enbrel is not a cure for these types of conditions, it can help prevent future damage from occurring. Enbrel comes in an injection form and is taken once or twice a week. Prior to taking Enbrel, be sure to tell your healthcare provider if you have multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, or congestive heart failure.
