Can Children Use It?

Formulations of ibuprofen are available specifically for use in infants (such as Infants' Motrin and Infants' Advil), as well as in children (such as Children's Motrin and Children's Advil).

Off-Label Uses of Ibuprofen

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend ibuprofen for something other than the conditions discussed above. This is called an "off-label" use. Some off-label ibuprofen uses include treatment for:

Fibromyalgia symptoms
Chronic fatigue syndrome symptoms
Gout symptoms
Symptoms of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE for short or lupus)
Pain or inflammation caused by other conditions
Migraines.
