Based on your past medical history, physical exam and current symptoms your doctor is recommending a procedure called knee arthroscopy with synovectomy. This procedure will allow your doctor to examine the inside of your knee joint and remove the portion of your synovium, which is the lining of your knee, that is causing problems
Knee problems can be caused from injuries or medical conditions. These problems will often lead to knee pain or the sensation of locking, popping, catching or the feeling that your knee is giving out.
Many knee problems can be treated with medication, activity modification and physical therapy. However, since these have been unsuccessful, your doctor is recommending a knee arthroscopy for your particular situation.
