Lodine XL Drug Interactions

Other Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
Using these pain relievers with Lodine XL can increase the risk for bleeding. However, acetaminophen (Tylenol®) products can be safely used.

Aspirin
Aspirin and Lodine XL can be used together. However, studies have indicated that the chances are higher for developing stomach ulcers when these medicines are combined. For your particular situation, talk to your healthcare provider about using aspirin and Lodine XL together.

ACE Inhibitors (Accupril, Lotensin, Vasotec, Altace, Zestril, Prinivil, Monopril, Capoten)
Lodine XL may inhibit the blood pressure-lowering effects of ACE inhibitors. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.

Diuretics (Torsemide [Demadex], Furosemide [Lasix], Hydrochlorothiazide)
Lodine XL may reduce the activity of diuretics. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.

Lithium (Eskalith, Lithane, Lithonate, Lithotabs)
Taking Lodine XL and lithium together may increase the levels of lithium in your body by decreasing the removal of lithium by the kidneys. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs and monitor the level of lithium in your blood.

Methotrexate (Rheumatrex, Trexall)
If you are taking both methotrexate and Lodine XL, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely and adjust your dose of these drugs.

Cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune)
Taking Lodine XL and cyclosporine together may increase the chances for kidney damage. Your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely and may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
