Off-Label Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Actemra for something other than rheumatoid arthritis. This medication has been approved in Japan for the treatment of Castleman's disease (a rare condition involving noncancerous tumors) since 2005, although using Actemra for this reason in the United States is still considered an off-label practice.
