"Arthritis" is not just a word that healthcare providers use when they are referring to painful, stiff, and swollen joints. It is a term used to refer to a group of more than 100 rheumatic diseases. These diseases can attack joints in almost any part of the body, and may cause lasting joint pain, warmth and redness in a joint, and joint stiffness. There are many things you can do to help improve these arthritis symptoms, such as exercise, take medications, or follow a proper diet.
