Most people don't have any problems with Celebrex; if side effects do occur, they are typically mild. Commonly reported side effects of this drug include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and indigestion. Uncommon problems include constipation, heartburn, and migraine. Serious problems, such as an allergic reaction or signs of congestive heart failure, should be reported right away to a healthcare provider.
An Introduction to Celebrex Side EffectsAs with any medicine, side effects are possible with Celebrex® (celecoxib). However, not everyone who takes the drug will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, they are usually minor. They often require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.
In research studies, up to 7.1 percent of people stopped taking Celebrex because of side effects.

Common Side Effects of Celebrex
Celebrex has been studied extensively in clinical trials. This way, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the drug.
Based on these studies, some of the most common side effects of Celebrex (seen in 2 percent or more of people) include:
- High blood pressure (hypertension) -- in up to 12.5 percent of people
- Diarrhea -- up to 10.5 percent
- Fever -- up to 9 percent
- Indigestion or heartburn -- up to 8.8 percent
- Upper respiratory tract infection (such as the common cold) -- up to 8.1 percent
- Upper abdominal (stomach) pain -- up to 8 percent
- Nausea -- up to 7 percent
- Cough -- up to 7 percent.
Other common side effects (seen in 2 to 6 percent of people) included but were not limited to:
