Arthritis Home > Naproxen for Arthritis

Naproxen (brand names include Aleve®, Naprosyn®, EC-Naprosyn®, Anaprox®, Anaprox® DS, and Naprelan®) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used for a number of different conditions. For example, naproxen is approved to treat arthritis symptoms, such as pain, stiffness, and swelling.

Although it can help improve symptoms of arthritis, naproxen is not a cure for this condition, nor will it change the progression of the disease.
