Mobic® (meloxicam) is a medication that has several uses, such as relieving pain, inflammation, swelling, and/or stiffness. This prescription medication is designed to help relieve these specific symptoms caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
As a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), Mobic works by inhibiting the action of certain hormones, called prostaglandins, which cause inflammation and pain in the body. By blocking these hormones' effects, Mobic can help reduce the symptoms associated with various forms of arthritis and other painful conditions.
Just like any medication, Mobic can cause negative reactions. Some of Mobic's commonly reported side effects include nausea, heartburn, and diarrhea.
