Mobic Drug Class

Available with a prescription, Mobic® (meloxicam) is a medication licensed to treat pain, inflammation, swelling, and stiffness. In particular, it is often used to treat the symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

Mobic belongs to a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medications work by inhibiting the action of certain hormones, called prostaglandins, which cause inflammation and pain in the body. Although Mobic can help alleviate these symptoms, it is not a cure for these conditions, nor does it slow down the progression of these diseases.
