Mobic Medication for Pain

Mobic® (meloxicam) is a medicine used to reduce swelling, inflammation, and pain. It is approved to help treat the symptoms of various forms of arthritis, including osteoarthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. This prescription medication is approved for use in adults and children (as young as two years old), and comes in the form of tablets and a liquid.

As a pain medication, Mobic is in a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by inhibiting the action of certain hormones in the body that cause inflammation and pain.

Although most people tolerate Mobic well, it is not suitable for everyone. Make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medicines you are taking (including vitamins and nonprescription medications), as well as any other medical conditions you may have. Possible side effects include heartburn, nausea, and diarrhea.
