Precautions and Warnings With Naprelan

It's important to be aware of any safety issues before starting a new medication. For example, some of Naprelan's warnings and precautions relate to serious side effects like a heart attack, the risk of allergic reactions in some people, and the safety of taking Naprelan while nursing. A few of the people who should not take Naprelan include those in the third trimester of pregnancy, those who have an active bleeding condition, and those who have recently had open heart surgery.

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider Before Taking Naprelan?

Prior to taking Naprelan® (naproxen sodium), you should tell your healthcare provider if you have:
 
Let your healthcare provider know if you:
 
  • Are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding
  • Drink alcohol frequently
  • Smoke
  • Are having or have recently had heart surgery.
     
Also, tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
