Orencia® is a medicine that is prescribed to treat rheumatoid arthritis when other medications have failed. By inhibiting T cells, the drug can reduce swelling and tenderness, and slow down structural damage to the joints. Orencia, which is given by IV, is administered every two weeks for the first three doses and then once every four weeks. Side effects of Orencia may include infections, dizziness, and cough.
