Piroxicam (Feldene®) is a medication that can be prescribed to treat symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It works by inhibiting the action of certain hormones (prostaglandins) that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Although piroxicam capsules have been shown to be useful for reducing pain, inflammation, and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis and painful conditions, it may take several weeks for the drug to begin working to its full potential.
