What Is Piroxicam Used For?

Symptoms of osteoarthritis; rheumatoid arthritis; and several other conditions related to pain, inflammation, swelling, and stiffness can often be relieved with piroxicam. How Does Piroxicam Work?

Piroxicam and other NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) work by inhibiting the action of certain hormones, called prostaglandins, that cause inflammation and pain in the body. By blocking the effects of prostaglandins, piroxicam can help alleviate pain, inflammation, and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis.
 

Can Piroxicam Be Used by Children?

Piroxicam is not approved for use in children.
