Remicade® (
infliximab) is generally a safe and effective treatment for a number of inflammatory conditions, such as
Crohn's disease,
psoriatic arthritis, and
ulcerative colitis. However, not everyone tolerates it well, and in some cases, it may not work as well as expected. In these situations, a healthcare provider may recommend alternatives to Remicade.
Depending on the condition being treated, these options can include:
- Other medications, such as corticosteroids, antibiotics, or antidiarrheals
- Dietary changes
- Lifestyle changes
- Nutritional supplementation
- Surgery.
