Remicade for Crohn's Disease

 Remicade® (infliximab) has been approved for the treatment of a number of inflammatory conditions affecting the joints, skin, or digestive system. For example, this medication can help reduce the symptoms of:
 
When studied in people with Crohn's disease, Remicade was shown to improve symptoms in 81 percent of cases. In people not taking Remicade, only 16 percent of cases showed improvement. The medication was also shown to decrease the number of fistulas in people with Crohn's disease.
 
Remicade is typically recommended for adults only; however, it has been approved for use in children as young as six years old when used for Crohn's disease.
