Remicade Safety

Although most people are able to take it safely, Remicade® (infliximab) has some special warnings to be aware of. For example, this drug may worsen multiple sclerosis or even cause it.

Remicade is not suitable for everyone, so it's important to discuss your health situation with your healthcare provider before starting treatment. Let him or her know if you are taking any other medications or have any other medical conditions, such as congestive heart failure, liver disease, or a history of cancer.

In clinical studies, the most common side effects included infections, headaches, and "infusion reactions" (fever, chills, or other reactions that occur while the drug is administered intravenously).
