Serious Remicade Side Effects

Some side effects with Remicade, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Symptoms of an infection, such as:
 
    • Coughing
    • Chills
    • Fever
    • Weakness
 
  • Signs of liver damage, such as:
 
    • Dark urine
    • Yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes (jaundice)
    • Upper abdominal pain (stomach pain)
 
 
    • Dizziness
    • Lightheadedness
    • Fainting
 
  • Unusual skin or mole changes (possible signs of skin cancer)
  • Unexplained bruising or bleeding
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
 
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Wheezing or difficulty breathing
    • Unexplained swelling.
 

Rare Side Effects Seen With Remicade

Rare Remicade side effects occur less frequently, but in at least 0.2 percent of people taking the drug. Because these side effects are so uncommon, it is difficult to tell whether they are actually caused by Remicade or other factors.
