Tylenol Caplets

Tylenol® (acetaminophen) is a common pain reliever that is available without a prescription. It is also used to reduce fevers. Regular-strength Tylenol (325 mg) comes only in the form of tablets, while extra-strength Tylenol (500 mg) is available in the following forms:
  • Caplets
  • Cool Caplets, which have a special coating that provides a cooling sensation in the mouth and throat
  • GoTabs (chewable tablets)
  • EZ Tabs, which are smaller, easier-to-swallow tablets
  • Rapid Release Gels, which have special holes to release the medication quickly
  • Rapid Blast Liquid, which contains 500 mg of Tylenol in each 15 mL.

Even though you don't need a prescription for this medication, you should let your healthcare provider know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have cirrhosis or hepatitis (or any other type of liver disease), or have any allergies, just to make sure Tylenol is right for you.
