Voltaren® (diclofenac sodium) is a medication that can be prescribed to relieve symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is a type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting the action of certain hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Voltaren comes in tablet form and is available by prescription only. While most people tolerate the pain reliever well, potential side effects include vomiting, constipation, and indigestion or heartburn.
