Voltaren Dosage

Various factors affect the dose of Voltaren you are prescribed, such as other medications you are currently taking and the medical condition you are being treated for. The recommended dosage for osteoarthritis is 100 to 150 mg per day; for rheumatoid arthritis, it is 150 to 200 mg. The recommended dosage when treating ankylosing spondylitis is 25 mg, four times per day.

An Introduction to Dosing With Voltaren

The dose of Voltaren® (diclofenac sodium) your healthcare provider prescribes will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
 
  • The form of Voltaren
  • The medical condition being treated
  • Other medical conditions you may have
  • Other medications you are currently taking.
     
As always, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Voltaren Dosage for Osteoarthritis

For symptoms of osteoarthritis, the recommended Voltaren dosage is 50 mg two or three times a day or 75 mg twice daily.
 
If you're taking Voltaren®-XR, the recommended dosage for the relief of osteoarthritis symptoms is Voltaren-XR 100 mg, once per day.
 

Voltaren Dosage for Rheumatoid Arthritis

When treating symptoms of
 rheumatoid arthritis, the recommended dose of Voltaren is 50 mg three or four times a day or 75 mg twice daily.
 
If you're taking Voltaren-XR, the recommended dosage for the relief of rheumatoid arthritis symptoms is Voltaren-XR 100 mg, once a day.
