Drugs That Do React With Xarelto -- And Those That Don't

Medications That Increase Bleeding Risk
Other medications that have anticoagulant, antiplatelet, or thrombolytic effects may increase the risk of bleeding with Xarelto. Always check with your healthcare provider before combining Xarelto with any such drugs, even nonprescription ones.

Additional Information and Notable Exceptions
Xarelto does not interact with vitamin K or foods rich in vitamin K. People sometimes mistakenly assume that it does, as warfarin (Coumadin®, Jantoven®), another oral anticoagulant, interacts with vitamin K.

Xarelto does not interact with acetaminophen (Tylenol®). Therefore, acetaminophen is usually the preferred over-the-counter (OTC) pain or fever medication for people taking Xarelto.

Final Thoughts

It is possible that not all drug interactions with Xarelto were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about the specific interactions that may apply to you.
